Hebrew language study is a critical component of the Overseas Student Program.

The ulpan is an intensive immersive Hebrew language course that is offered for either four- or six-weeks during the summer or winter. It is highly encouraged for all year and semester students, though no previous knowledge of the language is required. It incorporates a traditional curriculum of reading, writing and conversation skills with media, such as Israeli music, newspapers, movies, radio, as well as field trips.

The course meets for four hours daily, Sunday through Thursday, for a total of 80 hours (4-week program) or 120 hours (6-week program). Students are placed in an appropriate level based on a written exam prior to departure and an oral exam upon arrival. We offer many levels of Hebrew in the ulpan from very basic to extremely advanced.
