My name is Alex Freedman and I am from Villanova, PA. I am a junior at Middlebury College in Vermont and studying abroad at Ben-Gurion University for the fall semester. I am a International Studies Major on the Middle East Studies track with a concentration in Hebrew. At Middlebury, I play on the women's lacrosse team and I am also involved with Hillel and interfaith programming. Previously, I have interned for both the Israel Lacrosse Association and Jewish National Fund.

My First Few Days at BGU

I arrived in Israel on a Monday morning after saying goodbye to my parents at the Newark airport ten hours earlier. I had gone through these emotions a few times before, having traveled to Israel alone multiple times, but never for this long. However, I was filled with excitement for the new adventure ahead of me.
