Jeremiah is attending the spring semester at Ben Gurion University of the Negev through the Overseas Student Program. I am working towards my bachelors degree in Geoscience from Towson University, in Towson, MD. I am from Baltimore and have lived there my whole life. I am very excited to be learning here in Israel. I am really enjoying being immersed in the culture and in the Hebrew language.

Spring Time

May 31, 2014 - This past month was packed with fun and activity. Student Fest was at the beginning go the month. There was an extra long weekend that week and there were a ton of fun activities. The school hosted a fun night full of bands. Some of the bands that played were Infected Mushroom, Ha’Dag Nahash, ((הדג נחש , David Aharon, Ephraim Shamir and Mazi Cohen, and more! It was so much fun.

We are a week away from Passover

March 10, 2014 - We are a week away from passover break and the middle of the semester. Classes and life here are going well. Within these past two weeks I have gone on two field trips. One field trip to Timnah, located a bit up north to study volcanic rock with one of my BGU geology courses.

The end of the six-week Ulpan

March 10, 2014 - Just about March and I have to say that the time is going by fast. This month brought the end of the six-week Ulpan. To celebrate we all went bowling at an alley in the Big (like an outdoor mall/shopping area with supermarkets, restaurants, athletic stores, toy/book stores ect.) Celebrating the end of that six weeks at the bowling alley was fun, but it also meant saying good bye to some of the friends I had made. The good news is that now if I ever go to Germany, England, Poland, or Canada I will already have people there who I know. I’ve already made plans to go up to Alaska and stay with a friend that I met here.

My First Few Weeks
